Still
Markdown notes for the Mac

A quiet place to think on paper.

Still is a calm notes app for the Mac. Every note is a plain Markdown file in a folder you choose, usually in iCloud Drive, so your words stay readable in any app for as long as you keep them.

Still on the Mac: the sidebar, a list of notes and a morning page with a highlight, a quote and tasks.

Plain files, for good

Every note is a Markdown file in your folder. Open it in any editor today, or in twenty years.

Calm by design

The Markdown fades as you type, and the page looks finished while you write. Focus mode leaves nothing but the page.

No account, no servers

Still has no servers of its own. Your notes stay in your folder, and your sync service carries them to your other Macs.

Yours to lock

Lock a private note with a password and it is encrypted on disk with AES-256.

What's inside

Everything a notebook needs, nothing that shouts.

Write beautifully

Headings, highlights, tasks, footnotes and tables look finished while you write. Type / for a quick menu of styles.

Try
⌘N then /table

Capture anything

Catch a thought, record a voice note, clip a web page, or turn a PDF or a photo of a page into searchable text on your Mac.

Try
⇧⌘N or ⇧⌘R

Organize and find

Notebooks, nested tags, favorites and smart views. Search with phrases, tags, notebooks and filters like @todo.

Try
⌘K then @todo tag:work

Connect your thinking

Wiki links and backlinks, a constellation of your notes, canvases, and a writing partner that answers from your own notes.

Try
Type [[ in a note

Plan your days

A page for today, every open task from every note, and plans written the way you say them that land in Apple Calendar.

Try
⇧⌘E: "team sync every weekday at 9:30"

Keep it safe

Version history for every change, Trash, verified backups you can rehearse restoring, and locked notes.

Try
Settings › Sync & Storage
New for coders

The notebook your coding agent writes in.

Save any Claude Code or Codex answer into your notes with one key, filed under the repo you were working in. Let your agent search those notes, read your project's context, record decisions and tick off your tasks.
