Still
Privacy

Your notes never pass through us.

Still has no servers of its own and no account. Your notes are files in a folder you choose, and nothing is sent anywhere unless you set it up yourself.

Where your notes live

Every note is a Markdown file in your own folder, usually in iCloud Drive. Your sync service carries it to your other Macs. Still's own settings stay on your Mac.

What leaves your Mac

Nothing, unless you ask. Three features talk to the outside world, and only when you use them:

  • The writing partnerSends your request, and the passages you can review first, to the AI provider you chose. Your key is encrypted on your Mac.
  • The web clipperFetches the page you asked it to clip.
  • Voice transcriptionHappens on your Mac, unless you choose to send a recording to your AI provider.

Coding agents

The coding tools read the session files Claude Code and Codex already keep on your Mac, and write notes into your folder. Agents reach your notes only through Still's notes tools, which run on your Mac and never open a locked note.

Locked notes

A locked note is encrypted on disk with AES-256 and kept out of search, previews, the writing partner and agents. File names and attachments of locked notes are not encrypted.

No tracking

Still has no analytics, no advertising and no account to sign in to.
